世界遺産20周年記念

わたしたちの知床は、
流氷から始まる海・川・森の生命の
サイクルがもたらす、豊かな恵みの地です。
原生の大自然、個性的で貴重な動植物。
それらと寄り添いながら
暮らしてきた人々の営み。
知床が国立公園となったのは
1964年6月1日のこと。
2005年7月17日には世界自然遺産にも
登録されました。
この知床を次の世代へ繋いでいくことが、
私たちができるサスティナブルな営み。
豊かな大自然と、そこに暮らすすべてのものに
感謝したい。
この先も、ずっと。

Shiretoko Sustainable.

Our Shiretoko is a land blessed by nature’s rich cycle of life
—from drift ice, to sea, to river, to forest.

A pristine wilderness, home to rare and unique wildlife.
A place where people have lived in harmony with nature for generations.
Shiretoko was designated a national park on June 1, 1964,
and became a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site on July 17, 2005.
Passing this land on to the next generation—
this is our way of living sustainably.
With gratitude for the great nature and all who live within it,
now and always.
